Outriders is a three-player co-op RPG that features crossplay, so naturally, you’ll want to know how to start a multiplayer session in the new demo. It’s not too complicated, but we’re here to help if you need it. Here’s how to play co-op with friends in the Outriders demo.
How to Play Co-op With Friends in the Outriders Demo
So, you may have noticed that you can’t actually play co-op with friends until you complete the prologue of the game. The intro mission will take you all the way up until you receive your powers as an “Altered.” Basically, you’ll need to play until you’re given the choice to choose your class.
Once you reach that point, you’ll be able to access the main camp. It’s down a set of stairs nearby, right after you exit a cutscene with a familiar character. It’s located on the bottom left of the map. If you follow the objective marker, you can’t miss it
Once you reach the camp, you’ll receive the message above. To play with friends, open the menu, or walk up to a matchmaking station. Either way, you’ll get to the same screen.
From there, hit Play With Friends, then simply select a friend’s name under the Online, or Playing Outriders sections. You’ll get the option to either invite or join the friend that you’ve selected.
For those who are looking to play co-op using the crossplay feature, be sure to open the options menu and turn it on. Crossplay is off by default because it’s still in its beta stage at this point in the game. Check out our crossplay guide if you need more help getting that going.
That’s everything you need to know about how to play with your friends in the Outriders demo. It’s a bit unconventional, but be sure to remember that Outriders only supports up to three-player co-op, even though it contains crossplay options.
